Oakhaven Organic BakeryArtisan, hand-made breads made from stone ground organic whole grain spelt, kamut, wheat and rye flour. Everything is baked in a wood fired oven.

Oakhaven is an organic bakery located in Belleisle, Nova Scotia, at the west end of the Annapolis Valley. We use certified organic flours from Meunerie Milainaise in Quebec, a flour mill which stone grinds their flours to retain nutrients and flavour. We also use all organic butter, sugars, dried fruits and nuts.

All our breads are baked in the wood fired oven that Doug and his son built using a design from Alan Scott of Ovencrafters. The wood comes from Greg Young of Hampton, who still selectively cuts using a chainsaw and his back.
We strive to produce the best organic whole wheat breads possible using as few external aids as possible. There is no artificial dough retarding or proofing. Rather, we use variations in the ambient temperature of our bakery and attached house when needed.

You can find Oakhaven at the Annapolis Farmers market every saturday, EOS Fine Foods in Wolfville, Noggins Farm Market at Alderney Landing, and Noggins in Greenwich, D'Aubins Meat Market in Bridgetown.
